A VERY Merry Christmas

When I am teasing someone about their age/being immature I usually say that they are "like 12-years-old." Well, I must admit that when it comes to Christmas, I myself am like "12-years-old." I love it so much.

 From the treats...

....to the SONGS...

...and especially the true meaning of Christmas, our Savior's birth.

"There is, however, one teeny-tiny Christmas tradition I find quite meaningful.."

Christmas 2012 was just perfect. I wasn't sure if I was going to get enough time off to head up north to the Central Coast for Christmas, but we were EXTREMELY blessed when I found out I got the WHOLE WEEK OFF!! We headed up to Paso Robles on the night of the 21st and were able to stay home until Sunday the 30th of December. Such a lovely trip home.

Christmas Eve

One of my favorite days of the year

My family spends Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family. I love Christmas eve. We spend the day at my Grandma Shirley's house and spend time with family. These are people who are some of the nearest and dearest to my heart.

For the past 4 or 5 years we have chosen THEMES for Christmas Eve. The first year started subtly with "Dress up" meaning skirts/dresses and ties/slacks. The next year was PJ Christmas Eve...then EXTREME HOLIDAY SWEATER Christmas Eve....last year was Cowboy Christmas. Good thing last year was Cameron's first Christmas with the family so he didn't miss out on that. Here's a little taste of what Cowboy Christmas looked like:

Hot, right?

This year was 80's Christmas Eve:

Isn't Cameron like the BEST husband in the world for dressing up with me on Christmas Eve even though he kinda really hates dressing up? Yea, I think so. Pretty much he is the best ever. I love this picture Katie took of us.

My sisters and I....all 80's babies...although Callie barely made it in the 80's but 89' still counts!

Joined by our brother, Matthew (NOT an 80's baby, but that's OK cause the kid wore Hammer Pants and used LA Looks hairspray like a champ...)

Don't be jealous o my GOLD pants. OK you can be. I understand.

Bes Brien

High 5's are totally 80's, right?
Um...can you say ghetto booty? Too many peanut clusters for me...

Cousins-Oh how I adore these girls
Oh how jealous I am of Katie's Puff-sleeves

Bless us all who gather near, our loving family I hold dear, we reach for you, and we stand tall and in our prayers and dreams we ask you bless us all......

Christmas Day 2012

Christmas Day we spend with my dad's side of the family. This year we went to my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Joe's house in Santa Maria. We had a great time per usual.

 Reverse Charades

Mette, my cousin Brent's wife, brought Reverse Charades for us. You have 4 people on a team and 3 out of 4 members act out and 1 person guesses. Let's just say that some of the teams had a harder time than others....

Sneak Peek at our family photo shoot with Claire Johnson

We are SOOOOOOOO excited to see the pictures. She did SUCH AN AMAZING job and was so professional and sweet to go to the beach on this cold and windy day.

(ps these are OUR unedited photos, not Claires...:))

Ever since I can remember my mom's side of the family has been OBSESSED with Les Miserables. We know every word to every song. No, really, EVERY. SINGLE. WORD.

So, needless to say, we were pretty stoked to see the movie when it came out. The day after Christmas we all went to go see it together. We took up a whole row in the theater. Not too shabby.

My grandmother....one of the smartest, most giving, wonderful women I know

ooh la la

Cameron and I dream of one day building a home up on this hill on the ranch. I hope some day that dream will be a reality and we can build a zip line from our hill to my parents house and we can send our kids down to Grandma and Grandad's house when they are driving us crazy ;)

So sweet

This is not sweet. This is what my dad calls, "whisker burns" yes, yes, I am the doh doh brain that told my husband who was growing out his beard about whisker burns. Darn my big big mouth.

The Griffith women "au natural"

Benny hates me and Cameron. We're really not sure why, but, he does. Here's Cameron lifting Benny up and down. You can't tell here, but he is laughing and having a great time. We thought we should document that Benny was actually enjoying himself while interacting with Cameron.
While walking through the field back to the house we saw these ADORABLE Miniature Horses in our neighbor's field and stopped and fed them grass. They are so so so cute. Cameron and I decided we should own one some day instead of a Dog.

Benny loved these little guys!

For those of you who know me well you will realize that the fact that I #1 Thought these horses were cute and #2 wanted to feed them with my bare hands....IS PRETTY MUCH A MIRACLE.

I'm in love
